The Etheridge Shire covers approximately 39,039 square kilometres of Queensland's Gulf Savannah region.

The Shire is connected by four main communities being: Mt Surprise, Einasleigh, Forsayth and Georgetown, and two smaller communities: Kidston and Oak Park.
